Powerful Interviews with Kevin Garnett

I am an NBA fan, but I tend to be more of players’ fan than a team fan.  For instance, I am not the biggest Raptor’s fan, because I don’t particularly enjoy watching any one player on the team.  Don’t get me wrong, if they were in the play-offs, I would still be cheering for them, but I don’t reallly follow them that closely.  I love watching guards, with exciting athleticism or exceptional ball-handling and play-making ability.

Another thing that I really enjoy is an inspirational story.  The following interview was the deciding factor in my decision to cheer for Kevin Garnett and the Boston Celtics in their quest to win the NBA World Championship.

I personally love and am inspired by Bill Russell’s display of fathering and mentorship in Kevin Garnett’s life, a man who grew up without a father.  I believe those words of affirmation and praise had a deeper impact than most people realize.

Kevin Garnett’s story and the above interview become that much more meaningful heart-warming when you watch this interview with Jon Thompson from a few years ago:

  1. One thing common between you and i is that we both are fans of KG and hence Boston Celtics. Raptors are not too bad a team this year tho.
