Very good point John. That elaborates a bit on the point I was making that not every day looks like this and that it is important to be pouring our lives into people as well. In this post though, I decided just to touch on one aspect as opposed to covering the whole spectrum.

More so, this post was to get people thinking about the influences they are allowing in their lives through media sources. When it comes to associating with people, it really comes down to who is influencing who. If a person of good character through associating is drawing peopole up, then it is a healthy relationship. If the person with good character finds they are being influenced towards compromise of their values, rather than being an influence, they need to re-evaluate their association.

I’m not sure that bad company corrupts good character, although, certainly in some situations this is true.

According to some people Jesus had bad character because of the bad company he was with. “When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, ‘Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?’” (Mt. 9:11).

I think it’s true that, when it comes to the formation of your thoughts, “bad company corrupts good character.” However, I don’t think that this is necessarily true when it comes to choosing whom you’ll associate with.

Jesus came for the sinners. It’s the sick who need a Doctor. So that’s a very good question: “Who have you spent time with today?”
